You know what Internal Release really synergizes with? Internal Release is a nice DPS boost (approx 5%) but on it's own it's not good. It really smooths out any incoming damage you might be taking. Provoke - Convalescence - Flash - Awareness - Internal Release. Might want to put more levels into GLD for awareness if that's your flavor of tanking. "I want to optimize my warrior for success." Well start leveling PGL first then MRD/WAR. I stick with Internal Release but there's an argument for Mantra as well. Then to round out your cross class skills work on PGL until you get your desired cross classes. Stop when you kill Ultima Weapon at Praetorium. "This is my first class and I just want to be a tank while advancing through the storyline!" That's fine! You have all the vital tools you need.ģ0-50 MRD/WAR.
Provoke is a vital tool to re-establish emnity on a target if you lose it. If this is going to be your main and assuming you don't already have the levels described this is how I'd do it:ġ-15 MRD (to get up to your first dungeon)ġ5-30 MRD (to get one half of your Warrior Requirement)ġ0-22 GLD (to get the other half of your warrior requirement and provoke) You're serious about tanking as a warrior right? Second Wind (PGL8) - More useful on a DPS than a tank, but a heal's a heal. I've dodged a few Mountain Busters with the latter, but these are just more minor cooldowns. Not strictly needed, but it saves TP, is an extra source of enmity and helpful in low level dungeons where sleeping mobs is still a thing. Some endgame encounters will enforce tank swaps and it's still very useful otherwise.įlash / GLA8 - You have this already if you're a Warrior. It's up to you whether you want to max out Warrior first, or do several classes in parallel. And, if this is your first character, just follow your main story quests.Ĭross-class skills aren't entirely necessary until endgame (they're useful anywhere, of course) so I wouldn't say there's a strict structure you need to follow. The queues are fastest for those roles and you can actually practise doing your job.
